Fanta Konatê portrays the musicalness of her family’s Malinkê traditions in the show “A Voz das Aldeias” (The Voice of the Villages). The dances carried out by Fanta and her sister Fadima Konatê express the joy and vitality of a populace that, from the time period of the Mali Empire, comes together for innumerable festivities, efforts, and enactment rituals. “A Voz das Aldeias” (The Voice of the Villages) compiles the different phases of the Malinkê individual, from nativity to adulthood approaching fertility, baptism, circumcision work in the grassland, marriage, etc.
